Production of rebonded foam — BSW develops a wide range of rebonded foam products. The first plant and offices are built at Hilgenacker, Bad Berleburg.

REGUPOL is a resilient, versatile, heavy duty material suitable for a wide range of various applications.

BSW begins to manufacture and sell the first REGUPOL sports surfaces for multipurpose pitches in Germany.

REGUPOL Elastic Tiles and REGUPOL Interlocking Pavers are developed and first used for children playgrounds.

REGUPOL Impact Sound Insulation, and REGUPOL Sports Surfaces are officially launched as product offerings — This is considered the beginning of the REGUPOL era!

The 400,000 sq ft facility (in qm: 40.000) over time becomes home to all of BSW's foam and rebonded foam manufacturing equipment.

BSW was among the first German companies who pioneered business in what is today Russia. Trustful business relations were built, and maintained with customers in the former East block, oftentimes surviving all political changes.

BSW starts to manufacture REGUPOL moulded products in Hongkong for the Far Eastern Market. The company operated until 2004, when it was then sold to a Chinese investor who relocated the company to Mainland China.

After years of selling products to Australia, BSW decidesto start its own subsidiary "down under". REGUPOL Australia Pty Ltd has developed into an important member of the group of companies, often contributing valuable technological input.

BSW develops Regufoam, a high-tech open cell polyurethane foam. The material is manufactured in Bad Berleburg, Germany for sound attenuation and vibration isolation purposes. Ever since, this product range is sold worldwide.

The blue REGUPOL running track at “Olympiastadion Berlin” has become a symbol for athletics in Germany, and throughout Europe. In 2009 Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, set his world records on the track.

Dubai is probably the most famous city in the United Arab Emirates, and home to the highest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. This world-famous building has 163 floors, a total height of 829.8 m, and features REGUPOL Impact Sound Insulation.

After selling its shares to the previous joint venture partner, BSW undertakes a fresh start to serve the markets in North America and Mexico. REGUPOL America is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology. The company has developed into the second largest member of the group. The team at REGUPOL America is in a position to provide a broad level of industry specific expertise.

At the 2009 World Championships in Athletics, sprint legend Usain Bolt sets the world record in both the 100m and the 200m dashes on the Blue REGUPOL track at “Olympiastadion Berlin” with blistering times of 9.58 seconds, and 19.19 seconds.

BSW acquires another 230,000 sq ft (in m2: 23.000) piece of land in Bad Berleburg, Germany to build what is today the Logistic Centre of the company.

Sebastian Pöppel, LL.M, joins the Management Team of BSW as Director of Business Development for Protective Layers, Load Securement and Sports Mats.

The “Elbphilharmonie” is a cultural landmark in the “HafenCity” quarter of Hamburg, Germany. It is one of the largest, and acoustically most advanced concert halls in the world. The "Elphi" uses REGUPOL impact sound insulation to ensure the minimization of sound transmission.

Niels Pöppel, M.Sc., joins the Management Team of BSW as Director of Business Development for Sports and Acoustic Products.

Advertising partnership with Peter Sobotta. The well-known MMA athlete Peter Sobotta is the European advertising partner for Zebra Mats. Sobotta fully supports the product and brand in his training facility.

For the fourthtime, BSW has extended the advertising deal with Usain Bolt. For REGUPOL, this partnership is almost an affair of the heart. At the 2009 World Athletics Championships, Usain Bolt demonstrated his exceptional ability in setting his world records in both the 100m and the 200m dashes on the blue REGUPOL tartan track at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Only 9 months laterhe and his colleagues from the “Racers Track Club” were training on the very same blue REGUPOL track surfaceon the campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingston, Jamaica.

Testimonial with Kevin Rutkowski. Kevin is a tracer and parkour coach, and is a huge fan of BSW’s seamless safety flooring and the 600 m², in the Parkour area at the “Zollverein” ex-coking plant in Essen, Germany. It is “Ruhrgebiet’s” largest parkour facility, and a popular training and socialising place for Parkour enthusiasts.

One thing is certain, the customer relationships that have existed for decades show that our partners trust us. A good example is our long-time relationship with Descol in Deventer, Netherlands (commonly  known as SIKA Descol). This relationship has lasted more than half-a-century, and has mutual benefits. At the last FSB trade show BSW and “Descol” celebrated their outstanding relationship.

Incorporation of REGUPOL Zebra Athletics LLC in Minneapolis, MN, USA. The company sells BSW's portfolio of sport mats, primarily into the martial arts industry in North America.

One of the best surfaces for the best Jamaican athletes. Since the installation of Bolt’s blue track, REGUPOL technicians have constructed a total of 7 REGUPOL tartan tracks in Jamaica, including the one at the National Stadium in Kingston.

When people are asked what comes to mind when they think of REGUPOL, many think of "sports flooring", primarily because of the countless installations BSW has done in gyms and sports facilities all over the world. From the school sports hall to the international arena of World Championships and Olympic Games, athletes and operators trust in the quality and reputation of REGUPOL. Many REGUPOL surfaces have pioneered solutions in the athletic and sports world, making BSW one of the market leaders world-wide. In addition to sports floors, BSW serves a wide range of markets including winter sports floors, exhibition floors, sports hall floors, climbing hall floors, fall protection floors, and also floors for shooting ranges.

Whether it's fall protection tiles or seamless fall protection flooring, children can feel safe on our surfaces that have been tested, and are DIN/EU-certified fall protection. The playground at the Georg Henri Park in Brussels, Belgium is an example of a successful fall protection project featuring our floor. Through creative colour design choices and three-dimensional construction, our flooring is an impressive achievement.

In recent years, there have been significant additions to the REGUPOL family of companies, most recently including REGUPOL Zebra Athletics, the leading supplier of martial arts mats in the USA and Canada.

Advertising partnership with princess Nathalie in Bad Berleburg. REGUPOL equestrian floors have been installed in Princess Nathalie’s horse stables for a long time. She becomes a brand ambassador for REGUPOL, alongside Usain Bolt and other sports stars. 

In 1954, the “Berleburger Schaumstoffwerk” was founded by Karl Pöppel and Carl Schneider. Currently, the 3rd, and even parts of the 4th generation of the Pöppel family are part of the senior management. The long-term commitment of the employees is a goal of the company management, and always has been. Many employees have been working here in a family atmosphere since their apprenticeship, further solidifying the "at home" comfort of a "big family".

Our gym flooring has been the official sports flooring for the CrossFit Games since 2017. The CrossFit Competition has been held on our gym flooring for ten years already. Our subsidiary REGUPOL America and CrossFit, Inc., have had a close relationship since, which was ultimately solidified through a sponsorship agreement.

Already in 2018, REGUPOL renovated the worn-out running track at the Walter-Mundorf-Stadium in Siegburg, Germany: Training centre of the LAZ, that was founded in 2004. Since that time, we have sponsored the annual meeting on Pentecost that is organized by the track and field club. Long-term cooperation was the next logical step for both sides. The contract is for an initial period of four years and was signed by both parties in December 2019.

REGUPOL is sponsor of the „Top Teams Thüringen“

Top Team Thüringen and REGUPOL are joining forces to promote athletics in Thuringia. In January 2021 a sponsoring agreement has been signed.

Erfurt’s two most important sports venues, especially for top class sport, are the Steigerwald stadium and the Hartwig-Gauder Hall. Both venues are equipped with the fast REGUPOL running tracks.

The ambassadors for this link are top sprinter Julian Wagner along with his trainer Tobias Schneider.

REGUPOL is the Official Track Supplier for the European Championships Munich 2022. From 11th to 21st August 2022, the multi-sport European Championships are being held in Munich.

Exactly 50 years after the 1972 Olympic Games, the European Championships in 9 different sports are being held at the same venue. On a brand new REGUPOL running track.
